Here at Redbrik, we have always strived to give back to our local community in the best ways we can. To take our efforts one step further, we have now created the Redbrik Foundation to support children, young people, the elderly and those with disabilities in the Sheffield and Chesterfield areas.
Redbrik director and Foundation trustee, David Cooper, can be seen below discussing the Redbrik Foundation charities and Redbrik’s charity initiatives.
Over the years, our passion for giving back has resulted in some great achievements, including the Redbrik Chesterfield Half Marathon which in its third year in 2019 raised over £100,000 for its charities; Ashgate Hospicecare and Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. These achievements have only spurred us on more to give all we can back to our community, with The Redbrik Foundation being created to do just that.
The Redbrik Foundation will support a number of charities each year, with our chosen charities for 2020 being Bluebell Wood Hospice, The Children’s Hospital Charity, Fairplay and St Luke’s Hospice.
We’re delighted to continue our support for The Children’s Hospital. The Children’s Hospital Charity aims to support Sheffield Children’s Hospital in funding life-saving equipment, research and care to those who need it most. The charity works to create the best environments for those visiting the hospital.
Sophie Coburn, Corporate Partnerships Officer at The Children’s Hospital Charity said: “Redbrik’s longstanding support for Sheffield Children’s Hospital has been invaluable, both in terms of their fundraising and the enthusiasm with which they raise the profile of our work on their social media channels and online.
“Over the past two years, it has been a pleasure to work with Redbrik and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the team. We are very grateful for their continued support and I look forward to working with them closely in the years to come.”
At Redbrik, we know how much Fairplay are contributing to our communities and are proud to support them as they support others. Fairplay is a charity that supports children and young people with disabilities and additional needs as well as their families across North Derbyshire. Fairplay offers an array of support including clubs, activity days and independent living groups for young people all whilst supporting individual parents and siblings. With 135 members of staff and supporting an age range between 0 and 25, Fairplay proudly supports 400 families across our communities.
St Luke’s Hospice is a hospice that welcomes all individuals over the age of 18 living with terminal illnesses into their care. Each year, the hospice supports around 1,800 patients both in the hospice and their own homes, as well as extending support and counselling to family members. We’re looking forward to continuing our support for this fantastic charity with innovative and exciting ways to get supporting St Luke’s, just as they support our community.
Bluebell Wood is a children’s hospice dedicated to providing the best support for those whose lives are just too short. Bluebell Wood aims to support individuals and their families in the best ways possible; providing care for patients both in the hospice and in their own homes. They are an outstanding, caring service who have supported our local community for over 11 years, providing families with a haven where lasting memories can be made through activities at the hospice and family days out.
Rachael Dawes, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Bluebell Wood, said: “Redbrik’s amazing support over the years really has made an incredible difference to the children and families we support.
“We’d like to thank everyone at Redbrik for their continued support and we look forward to working closely with you in the weeks and months ahead.”
We’d like to give back to Bluebell Hospice and show just how much their amazing work means to us.
