Demand for family homes at an all-time high

Rightmove has recently reported that family homes with more than three bedrooms are in short supply across the country.

This means it is an excellent time for homeowners who are thinking of selling their property, to bring their property to market.

During May, Redbrik registered an average of 11 buyers for each of the properties instructed, and we have recently sold a number of three-bedroom homes, all for over their asking price.

Two properties sold through Redbrik in Sheffield which recently achieved over their asking price are positioned on Delves Close and Granby Road. The home on Delves Close, based in the S12 postcode, received a total of 18 viewings and 11 offers, whilst the Granby Road property, in the S5 area, received 13 viewings and 8 offers.

We are also experiencing a similar level of demand in the North Derbyshire region. Properties recently sold on Highgate Drive, S18, and Central Avenue, S40, both achieving over their asking price following high levels of interest from buyers, with each property receiving 15 offers.

Rightmove’s, Tim Bannister, commented: “Family homes with three bedrooms or more are like gold dust in many areas of the country, especially in parts of the north. So if you are considering a move and have a sought-after home like this, I’d be seriously considering coming to market now.”

With the number of potential buyers and property asking prices currently at a record high across the region, sellers are in a great position to achieve both a good price on their homes and a sale in the timeframe that suits them.

As the UK continues to open up, the number of people bringing their homes to market will increase, and so there is a limited window for homeowners to take advantage of the current market conditions.
