Bessie’s is the perfect place to go for brunch on a lazy Sunday morning. It’s a small café and can be easy to miss but it’s situated directly opposite our Millhouses office! Serving up a nice variety of breakfasts, and offering plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, this lovely café is sure to set you up for the rest of the day. Be sure to try the blueberry pancakes – they’re heavenly!
Offering a real taste of Latin America, La Mama serves up a wide range of tapas dishes in a warm and friendly atmosphere. For a truly authentic experience, La Mama host live Latin jazz evenings on a regular basis – the perfect accompaniment to your dining experience. We highly recommend the Chorizo a la Sidra – chorizo cooked with onions and apple cider – you won’t regret it.
The Broadfield Ale House has that delightfully cosy pub feel, while offering much more than just a pint of bitter and a bag of crisps.
Broadfield stock the delectable Sheffield Dry Gin, a range of craft ales from True North Brew Company, as well as a single malt whisky from every working distillery in Scotland! The hearty Gastro pub menu is also sure to whet your appetite handy for when your ‘quick pint’ lasts longer than anticipated.
One of the hippest joints in Sheffield. Picture House Social opened in 2014 and is situated in the ballroom and billiards room of the 1920s Abbeydale Picture House. Serving up craft ales, cocktails, pizza, ping pong and a cosy mini cinema, it’s easy to see why Picture House Social has become so popular.
On most weekends, you’ll find any number of fun activities taking place in Millhouses Park. For the little ones, the huge bouncy castle and pedal boats usually take centre stage during the summer months, as well as a fun playground and cycle trail to keep them amused. There’s sports aplenty at Millhouses too, with cricket green, tennis and basketball courts, bowls and much more. This park certainly does cater to all tastes.
Sheffield’s Antiques Quarter covers the wide array of wonderful vintage shops situated on Abbeydale Road. Whatever it is you’re looking for, you’re bound to find something you like. There’s The Vaults, situated in a former HSBC bank, featuring an eclectic mix of furniture, accessories, and decorations. If it’s vinyl you’re after, head to Below for a rifle through their expansive catalogue. Or maybe you’re looking for some vintage sportswear to liven up your wardrobe – The Pirate Ship has got you covered.
Whether you’re on the hunt for something particular, or just fancy a wander on a Saturday afternoon, The Antiques Quarter is the perfect place to find one-of-a-kind items.
