If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers a little bit of something different, you won’t be disappointed with Juke and Loe.
Launched by brothers Luke and Joe Grayson, who switched the first letters of their names to give the restaurant its quirky title, Juke and Loe is Ecclesall Road’s latest independent eatery offering an eclectic mix of dishes.
Featuring set lunches during the daytime and a contemporary dining experience in the evenings, they offer an excellent, informal dining experience with a seasonal menu.
The setting is delightfully cosy, with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, making for the perfect dining experience.
The menu is clean and unfussy, offering just enough choice without having to trawl through pages of options.
To begin with, the chicken waldorf is outstanding – chicken, celery, candied walnuts, pickled grapes and crispy chicken skin. So much flavour!
Or you could give the heritage tomatoes a try. Served with basil sorbet and Wigmore cheese, this dish was the perfect starter size to get the taste buds tingling.
For the main course, the beef cheek and tongue was outstanding with some pretty impressive side dishes to accompany.
The risotto with mushroom and white chocolate was sensational – a real treat and the inclusion of the chocolate made this dish beautifully creamy.
For those with a sweet tooth, the treacle tart with clotted cream is pure heaven on a plate – this one speaks for itself!
Or, if you prefer savoury dishes, the cheeseboard comes with a selection of four kinds of cheese, house chutney and truffle Sheffield honey – the perfect way to finish the evening.
The staff were also fantastic, always on hand to help and advise on various courses and keep drinks topped up.
Juke and Loe is the place to be – a fantastic independent restaurant serving up some truly amazing food. We shall be returning very soon!
