The last couple of months have been fairly hectic with the lead up to Christmas. I had a bit of a rest after my last event of the season and was invited as a guest of honour to ‘Sheffield’s Celebration of Sport’. This was a gala dinner held at the English Institute of Sport with sporting greats like Jessica Ennis-Hill, Anthony Joshua and recent Olympic medalist Bryony Page. The venue looked fantastic and I got to catch up with some of the Redbrik and HR Media team who support me with my training and events.
I tend to do more running events over the winter and did Clowne Half Marathon in November where I came first female! I ran Percy Pud 10k and was awarded a trophy and bottle of champagne by Leeds based journalist and broadcaster Harry Gration, who always runs in this event! A week later I took part in Bolsover 10k and finally got a sub 40 min 10k time which I’ve been chasing the last 12 months so it looks like training is on track.
Over Christmas I’ve spent some time planning for next season. With 2 age group European Championship events coming up, which will take me to Spain and Germany, I’ve got another busy year planned.
I’ve had a lovely Christmas with my family and even got to meet Santa with my children! He must know me well because he gave me a fab t-shirt!!
