Koko restaurant prides itself on being a ‘traditionally untraditional’ Japanese restaurant and promises to deliver food that will not be found on any other menu in Sheffield. It certainly delivers on all accounts!
Located on the bustling Ecclesall Road, Koko offers a great menu of full of Japanese cuisine that pushes the boundaries, including a fantastic choice of main dishes and wide selection of sushi.
With a menu that varies week on week, you can try something different at every visit to the restaurant – or stick to your favourites!
For starters, the duck and shiitake gyoza are perfect for sharing (or eating all to yourself!).
If it’s sushi you’re looking for, the Tora rolls are really something special – grilled prawn, salmon tempura, avocado, tenkasu, sweet soy sauce and spicy mayo, topped with seared salmon, shichimi and chives. Delicious!
For a larger main, both the Wafu sirloin steak and the Ebi Kare (king prawns in panko breadcrumbs, served in curry sauce) are mouth-wateringly good.
Koko also provide their own twists on a number of classic cocktails – give the lychee Bellini a try, you won’t regret it!
Fancy something not on the menu? The chef is happy to accommodate any requests you might have, as best as they can. The staff are also very understanding for those with any dietary requirements, offering a separate vegetarian and vegan menu, and encourage diners with allergies to ask for their advice.
The simple décor gives the restaurant an intimate feeling of Japanese authenticity and the friendly staff help to make your visit thoroughly enjoyable.
Koko is a brilliant restaurant for any occasion, whether it’s a celebration, date night or you just want to treat yourself, you will come away feeling like you’ve eaten some really special food.
